Flaco favored backstops as a base for his nightly hunts. I often observed him there as he patiently surveyed the field for his next meal. The New York City lights provided a beautiful backdrop to this scene. Sometimes it was quiet; other times, one could hear sirens, dogs barking, music blasting, people shouting, and the other sounds of a bustling NYC. Flaco remained unperturbed. Focused on his goal, he waited for the opportune moment. Suddenly, he would dive down and grab a rat in his talons.
