An adult Black Skimmer had passed a needlefish to a chick, but for reasons unknown, it chose to reclaim the meal. Yet the chick refused to relinquish its substantial prize. A tug-of-war ensued. Finally, the adult took flight, but the chick clung on. Suddenly another adult appeared from the left to pursue the pair. Eventually, the chick released its grip and tumbled backward into the sand. Meanwhile, the adults continued their chase, vying for the coveted catch.
